SECRET/GREEN SEASON BIRDING SAFARI
These months are the most exciting for birding in Zambia. All of the migrants are present and many local birds are in full breeding plumage and are singing. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded in South Luangwa National Park and some of the highlights include Western Banded Snake Eagle, Lilian's Lovebird, Collared Palm Thrush and the stunning Fire-crowned Bishop in its summer finery.
Many interesting activities will be planned: in addition to the regular game drives guests will also venture out on foot so as to better appreciate bird-calls. There will be an emphasis placed on exploring the different habitats to be found in the Luangwa Valley.

As well as mixed riverine woodland with its lagoons and backwaters we will visit forests of Mopane where this tall tree grows exclusively and is home to species like the Arnot's Chat and Racket-Tailed Roller, which will not be seen elsewhere. One day will be spent driving across the Park to the Mchinga Escarpment. We will drive through brachystegia and other woodlands until we reach the escarpment to look for Pale-Billed Hornbill and other very rare Luangwa sightings.
With an unequaled knowledge of the Luangwa bird life there will be the opportunity for guests not only to see many new species but also to learn a lot about the physiology, behavior and distribution of birds.

Chinzombo Safari Camp
Chinzombo Safari Camp is wildly luxurious accommodation, designed by award winning architects Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens. Chinzombo brings levels of comfort, style and elegance previously unseen to the Luangwa Valley in Zambia. Gigantic, ancient shade trees offer peace and tranquility for guests staying in any one of the six stunning villas, one of which is a family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for families or small groups. Each villa has its own private pool, cooled sleeping areas, and massive bathroom. The camp is set within 60 acres of private land with Luangwa River frontage; the views from its riverside location which teems with wildlife, plus the private, direct access into one of the most game rich areas of the National Park all combine to make this a truly special place.
